Does Dr. Harrison do acupuncture and rehab on animals other than dogs?

Dr. Harrison is happy to see cats and rabbits for acupuncture and rehab as well.

Will Dr. Harrison do my dog’s vaccines or see my dog if they are sick?

No. Dr. Harrison’s practice is limited to rehabilitation and acupuncture. She can certainly help identify problems and recommend when further attention is warranted by a general practitioner or specialist. However, general practice is outside the scope of Good Dog Veterinary Rehab.

How long are Dr. Harrison’s appointments?

All initial consults are 1.5-2 hours long to allow for a complete history, orthopedic and neurologic exams, overview of a rehab plan for your dog, and first treatment. Subsequent visits are 1 hour (acupuncture + rehab, 45 minutes (acupuncture only) or 20 minutes (laser only). Laser-only appointments are only offered in Katonah.

How far does Dr. Harrison travel for home visits?

Dr. Harrison’s housecall radius is limited. She is happy to provide in-home care to clients in Katonah, Bedford, Bedford Hills, Golden’s Bridge, Mt. Kisco, Chappaqua, Armonk, Pound Ridge, Greenwich, Cross River, and North Salem

What will my dog experience during an acupuncture treatment?

Acupuncture is essentially a pain-free process and most dogs tolerate needle placement well. Many dogs actively enjoy the process and may even fall asleep with the needles in. The needles used during treatment are tiny with some measuring just a few millimeters long. The number of needles placed per treatment varies depending on the age of the dog, the condition being treated, and the overall health of the dog.
